Gardasoft at VISION 2016, 8-10 Nov, Stuttgart

Publish Date: October 2016

Gardasoft will have a series of demonstrations running at the VISION Show (8-10 Nov, Stuttgart) illustrating the wide range of capabilities offered by the Triniti intelligent lighting platform. These will include consistent/adaptive lighting control and multi-pulsing and safe overdriving of LED lighting. Further enhancements to the Triniti platform will be demonstrated through an automatic focusing demonstration, where Gardasoft’s new TR-CL Series of single channel industrial Lens Controllers provide very accurate and repeatable control of Optotune EL-10-30 and EL-16-40 focus-tunable lenses.

The consistent/adaptive lighting demonstration shows how Triniti can automatically compensate for any changes in light intensity occurring in the machine vision system. This is achieved by using the camera to continually measure the illumination intensity of a defined area of the scene and compare it to a predetermined illumination bandwidth. Triniti adjusts the lighting controller output in real time to maintain the LED intensity within the bandwidth.

Many machine vision applications require the acquisition of many different images of the same part using single or multiple lights and single or multiple cameras. The demonstration will show how Triniti can handle the triggering of a single or multiple lights at different intensities and for different durations in a defined sequence.

In another multi-light application, a video will show a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot equipped with an iRVision colour vision system, a CCS LED and Gardasoft lighting controller inspecting three different parts in a random orientation. Multiple images are recorded using various illumination levels switched at high frequency for the 3 components and analysed after acquisition.

The automatic focusing demonstration utilises the new TR-CL Series of lens controllers highlights auto-teaching and auto-recognition applications. This illustrates another major step towards the complete automation of machine vision applications by making seamless access and control of system cameras, lighting and lenses possible in a single machine vision environment.

Gardasoft’s new TR-HT series will also be on show. These are the highest power LED lighting controllers currently available for machine vision applications. With 2 independent output channels, each rated at 150W and each capable of driving 50A in pulsed mode and 5A in continuous mode, these new models are ideally suited to driving high power LED area and LED bar lights.
